Advance Credit

Students may be granted advance credit toward the Post-Masters Certificate in Counselling. You may apply for up to 3 credits (1 half course) of graduate study from other universities. Only courses taken within the past 6 years (from date of application to the program) will be considered for advance credit.

Application for advance credit and fee payment must be made at the time of application to the program. Advance credit decisions will be made as part of the admissions process and will not be revisited at a later point in the program.

Students must demonstrate that previous coursework is equivalent to core GCAP courses or appropriate for option or specialization course credit. Courses cannot be considered for advance credit if they have already been used towards another degree.

Students who successfully complete GCAP courses as non-program students will receive credit for those courses toward their program.

The information required to apply for advance credit is provided under the Application Information links.
