Current and Projected Program Fees
The following fee payment schedule applies to students in the Master of Counselling: Counselling Psychology and Career Counselling specializations, as well as the Post-Graduate and Post-Masters Certificates in Counselling. Students in the Art Therapy Specialization will take three less courses from GCAP, reducing the overall GCAP tuition costs, but will pay additional fees directly to VATI. Please carefully review the Additional VATI fees.
Students pay a program fee each semester as long as they remain in the program, including any periods in which they are not completing coursework. This includes the period of time after students have completed their coursework and are continuing to work on their final project.
Course fees are paid only as students register in each course. So, for example, if you take three courses a year, you will be assessed course fees for those three courses in addition to the program fee for each semester.
All numbers have been rounded to the nearest dollar in this table. To calculate your fees for a given semester, simply multiply the per-course fee by the number of courses you plan to take and add the other fees noted on that line of the table below.
A Graduate Students Association Fee of $12 per course credit (e.g., $36 per 3 credit course) is also added to tuition each time you register for a GCAP course. Please note that this fee is set by your association not the university.
Please note: Course registration normally occurs 2.5 months in advance of the course start date. You are required to pay the tuition fee at the time of registration. So, for example, plan to pay your fees for September courses in mid-June. You may pay your program fee for the next semester at that time or later on (as long as it is paid by the program fee deadline, which is usually the first day of the month prior to the class start date).
| Academic Year | Program Fee | Final Due Date | Per Course Fee | Final Due Date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2010 | ||||
| Winter: Semester 1 | $625 | December | $1,197 | October |
| Spring-Summer: Semester 2 | $625 | April | $1,197 | February |
| Fall: Semester 3 | $634 | August | 1215 | June |
Note:
These costs are subject to change without notification.
This table is based on projected fee increases, which come into effect
each September. We anticipate that the program and tuition fees will
increase by at least 3% per annum.
